About

Water transfer printing - also known as hydro dipping, immersion printing and hydro imaging - is an image transfer process that uses a water soluble PVA film to transfer printed graphics onto three-dimensional objects for personalization and decorative purposes. If an object can safely be submerged in water, then it can be hydro dipped. Keep scrolling to learn more about Hydrokon and the hydro dipping image transfer process. HISTORY

IKONICS manufactures Hydrokon Water Transfer Film in Duluth, Minnesota. Since the mid-20th century, IKONICS has served as a leader in the development of imaging technologies. We continue to introduce products and process solutions for a diverse array of imaging markets.

TECHNOLOGY

Traditionally, IKONICS’ strengths lie in photochemistry and coated films. Our chemists and engineers have developed unique skills and an I.P. base which served as the foundation for the development of Hydrokon. Hydrokon offers hydrographic printers a printable water transfer film which is compatible with pigment-based, latex and solvent inks.
